Don't Fall Asleep

Industry: Motion Picture

"On my recent HDSLR feature 'Don’t Fall Asleep' we needed a 4K par but the location and budget limited us to plugging to house power. I was attracted to the Nila SL for the light output of an HMI and the extremely low power draw. The upside was the versatility of the interchangeable lenses and the full dimming range. I can’t see shooting another project without the Nila SL."
- Ric Griffith, DP - Steadicam Operator

The Don't Fall Asleep DSLR feature was lit entirely with Nila LED lights. Watch the official trailer on YouTube. “We had to shoot in a house built in the 1930s with limited power resources, and we couldn’t use a generator,” Ric Griffith says. “With the Nila lights we were able to completely light the set using existing power from the house.” Ric also used the Nila SL as a backlight source with 150 feet of extension cord to have an exposure on the street where they were shooting.

"Nila lights are great - huge power that you can plug into a wall and fit in small spaces. I plan on picking a couple up for myself."
- Brent Roske, Emmy nominated Director 'Don't Fall Asleep'
